What information do I need to register my student(s)?

After entering my student information into Registar, it says it cannot be validated

I did not get a letter with directions on updating student information for registration

Have you moved and not updated your address with the district? Are you primary household and legal guardian? Step parents do not have update rights. District wide in person registration will be August 2nd from 7:00am to 7:00pm at Burlington High School. Make up day will be on August 8th in your attendance building.

There will also be satellite registration sites open on July 26th at The Maple Leaf Center and July 27th at the Stone Garden Community Room. District personnel will be there from 5:00pm -7:30pm to help parents with the registration process. New students are welcome to register on any of four dates listed above.

I do not have access to computer and/or the internet

James Madison Educational Center (Formerly James Madison Middle School) and The BCSD Administration Building @ 1429 West Ave will computers available for registering your student online.  Hours will be from Monday- Friday from 10 – 3 starting on July 11th. Please bring the letter you received with your student information and directions. Any phone or computer that has internet access can be used to register your student. You may also enroll in-person on any of the 4 dates listed above.

I do not have a personal email account

You will need to create an email account to start the registration process. Directions to create a Gmail account can be found here.                                             

What information do I need to register my student?

You will need your student’s id number, name and birthdate. The online registration process can be a started and then completed at another time. You will be able to pick up where you last left off, but once the ‘submit” button is hit, you will not be able to go back and make any changes. All changes after submission will need to be made through your attendance center.

Your student might not have a 16-17 enrollment or they are new student to the district. You will need to complete a written packet on July 26th, 27th, or August 2nd at the places and times shown above.

Registar will not allow me to choose the school building I requested for my student

You will need to register with information from your “home” building. Voluntary requests for school changes are not approved until after registration when class size numbers can be confirmed. You will have to verify with your “home” building office after August 8th if your voluntary transfer was approved

Registar will not let me change my student’s name

After August 3rd buildings will have office staff available for you to provide legal documentation in order for the change can be made.

Can I pay fees online?

Yes, there is a secure fee module within the registration process. You may use this feature or choose to pay in person at any of the registration dates or after August 8th at any of the building offices.

If pay for a parking pass or other items, when will I get them?

You may pick up parking passes and activity tickets at the August 2nd general registration or the first day of school. We will have cashiers present on August 2nd if you have chosen to pay in person.

Will the fees reflect my free/reduced meal status?

If you have direct certification, yes, the adjusted amount will be shown. If believe you should have free or reduced fees, there will be a link to download and print the application packet. Please fill out the packet and return it to your attendance center or the Food Service Office @ the James Madison Educational Center.

Where can I find a supply list for my student?

Supply lists are on the front page of the district website at www.bcsds.org

Can I log in to Registar with my Campus Portal account?

No you cannot. Registar is a separate system that requires you to create an account at your first use. This is why you are required to have an email address.
